Why in the experiment of iodine clock reaction hydrogen peroxide is added last?

In simple terms its because the reaction involving the H2O2 is the rate controlling step and kicks of the reaction. So its added last so you can time the reaction from the point of adding the H2O2 until it turns bule/purple.
