Blood test shows negative on the 2nd day of delayed period?it's been 8 days of my delayed period?

My daughter has been clified as "presumably gifted" by her Dr. and also a developemental psychologist. She is 18 months old and has a vocab of approx. 100 nouns, verbs, adjectives, sounds, and also a few 2 word sentences. She can also identify all of her obvious body parts (ie nose, ears, legs, arms, hands, , belly ect.) She also has recently learned to differentiate from her left and right feet, hands, and ears. She can identify the letter B and can identify how many fingers you hold up, up to 3 fingers, and can count to 3. In order to figure out her clification they used the scale that is usually reserved for identifying speech delays or possible onsets of autism. This scale measures "Developemental quotient" as opposed to "IQ". Basically when they look for speech problems/delays they measure how far down on the lower end of the scale the child is, and although it's not often done (my ped. says she's only had it done 1 other time in 15yrs) it can measure the opposite direction. But they only attempt to prematurly clify a child if they appear and then show to be very far over the average. I'm not sure where to go from here. A certain level of advancement has run in my side of the family. But not to the extent she shows. Because of this though, there are some temperments that are more extreme. Like frustration, she gets frustrated with things; like puzzles, more quickly then a child who is "average". It also makes her tantrums a bit more extreme. I don't want to do anything to impeade her abilites so I am looking for general parenting advice from anyone who has had a similar situation. Thanks!

Well my last question was just deleted for some reason so let me rephrase this. My cat went into labor at 3 in the morning, and it is almost 12 in the afternoon now. She's not in distress, the babies are still kicking, and I know she's still in labor because of the heavy breathing and such. She had contractions at the start of labor but only delivered a placenta, and she hasn't had contractions since. I need some advice on what to do! Is this normal for some cats, or should we take her to the vet soon?

Abuse of custody schedule?

Not being a person who went through a divorce, I am uncertain of what advice to offer to my daughter. She is going through a divorce, sadly, and they have not had anything come before a judge yet. Currently, they share their daughter, and have a schedule. The problem arises that my ex son in law is always needing to modify the schedule, and my daughter has every time worked things out to accommodate his needs. Now, he has requested a three week block of time to take some personal growth cl. My daughter offered to accommodate all days but four. These four days are days that she had off per the custody schedule. She is using the time for a much needed long weekend break, and if I could keep my granddaughter I would, but I too will be away on a seniors cruise. Her ex to be told her "I am going, so you figure it out." There is no court order to ert, and she feels that she now must give up her time, or he will paint her to be the negligent parent. I worry because I think this "I do not care, you figure it out" attitude on the part of my ex son in law is going to be an ongoing problem.

Yesterday in the afternoon I think two people attempted to burglarize my mom's house?

My mom told me that yesterday at around 1pm (broad daylight), my father had left the house to go to the gym. So she was home alone with her granddaughter, when somebody rang the doorbell. she looked out the window from upstairs in the master bedroom, and saw a car with an unfamiliar female driver that was backed up into the driveway and parked. There was somebody at the front door who had rang the doorbell so my mom walked downstairs to open the door, but by the time my mom had arrived to the front door, there was then knocking/pounding at the back door (the entire backyard is enclosed by a fence, so in order for somebody to get to the back door they would have to hop the gate on the side of the house). My mom walked to the back door thinking it was just me or something (I am her son), and when she opened the back door it was a male stranger. My mom said the guy was startled by her opening the door, and he asked "does eddie live here?" and my mom, also startled, answered "NO!" and the guy immediately turned and very quickly walked away back toward the gate on the side of the house (the gate is not visible from the back door so my mom could not see him hopping the gate). My mom closed and locked the door and went back to the front of the house and the car with both strangers were gone. What do you think about this situation, what should we do?? I am very scared for my parents, as they are scared too.

That was an issue of the past, so leave it there, don't let that effect how you live out the course of your life. The only way I can get away from all of this is to go outside for a walk for a couple of hours or go to a friend's house or a relative's house, or school, or my job. She has started arguments with me, involving her having yelled at me, calling me names, making me feel guilty, saying I’m evil, slapping me, disrespecting my dad, almost everything in the book. Recently, she has said that I’m not the child she raised, and I’m starting to think that she’s right. She never raised me to believe in having step-relatives. The only thing that’s gotten to me so far is the time when she said that my dad never loved any of us and having him die was the best thing that’s ever happened to us. My mom has changed for the worst, and there’s nothing I can do about it, all I can do is keep my distance and move on with my life. Whether or not what I’m doing is right or wrong, all I know is I love my dad, and I will never replace him, no matter how much people say my mom isn’t replacing him. When I’m at home, I ignore it all by watching TV and movies, playing video games, listening to music, and turn on the stand-up fan in my room. I’ve just recently learned that he is also the violent type. He beat up his brother just because he was using my blanket for one night. I never said he could use it after it got done being washed and dried, but he figured he could win me over by fighting for me with his brother over a blanket, which is retarded. Also, I never noticed it, but my Aunt Cindy told me that he strangles my mom, she claims to have seen strangle marks on her. It gets worse one week before school started this year, when he’s actually beaten up my own brother. He got mad at him just because he was eating downstairs in his own room. He just continuously kept calling Shawn a dumb, until Shawn finally snapped and yelled “**** YOU!” and they started a fist fight. I feel ashamed that I didn’t do anything about it, but I feel like if I did, it probably would’ve ended much worse than that, I probably would’ve done just exactly what he wanted me to do, and I would’ve gotten in really big trouble. This freak has caused me so such pain, misery, and difficulty in my life, I refuse to look at his face or listen to his god-awful voice. Maybe for the past year, I’ve been thinking that with my dad gone and all, my mom does need a new man. Recently, he got drunk one night and ended up yelling at my little sister and hurting my brother, so we banded together and took initiative by getting help from our relatives and the school to kick him out of the house. So here's the question: how can I help my mother forget about this freak and get her to find a new man who is a hell of a lot better?

Can i get altitude sickness at 8300 feet?

I am leaving for Bogata, Colombia in a few days and i heard it had an elevation of 8300 feet. I am a little worried because about 6-7 years ago i went skiing in Breckenridge for a week (9600 feet) and i felt really crappy and could not do anything because of the altitude sickness i got. Additionally, I am ALOT more fit and in shape than i was when i went on that trip. Also the weather in bogata is almost always 77 degrees as opposed to 20-30's in Colorado. Yes, I have one. My only problem continues to be that when you use it outside you need to have the headphones visible to the sky for the antenna. I live north of San Francisco so I am not remote out in the woods. I would love a real portable unit that I could use while shopping in the mall. Don't get me wrong..I still love my dad and everything, and I miss him. However, I can't simply go back (if I ever decide to). I told him I was at my friends house and I'd be home in time for him to pick me and my brothers up for dinner. I'm almost at the house when he calls my brother and asks him where we are. He got to our house a half hour early, and decided he'd pick us up early. My brother told him we were coming back from my friends house because we were watching a movie. I was totally shocked...and then he starts arguing with me. He told me I'm exactly like my mom- bitter and angry. I hate it when I'm compared to either of my parents, but my mom's not a bitter person. My parents just hate each other. When I told him to stop comparing me to my mom (at this point I was beyond anger) he's like, "Ok. Whatever, Melissa." That's not my name..that's my mom's name. I got to the bathroom because I'm on the brink of tears, and I try calling my mom, and she picked up and I told her what happened. After I finish talking to my mom, I leave the bathroom, and my dad asks me if I had been throwing up my food. I'm not bulimic, I had been sick that week, and I couldn't hold down any food that well. My mom knew that, but my dad had umed that I was making myself sick. When he dropped us off home, he didn't bother saying goodbye to me so I just went inside. He's made fun of my face when I had some major acne problems and he's made fun of my weight before..I used to be overweight, but I don't think I should've been made fun for it. I don't want to see him because I don't want to cry over something he does to me or says to me, but he's my dad and I feel guilty for not seeing him, and I still care about him and everything. They are called liquid stitches or Dermabond. We use them sometimes in the vet office also. They will usually dissolve or fall off in a few days to a week. Just like stitches. If you are really worried, you can put a erfly bandage over it. If you aren't comfortable with showering normally, then don't do it. You will be healed up before you know it. We have had dogs come in and get Dermabond stitches and are running around playing the next day. They are pretty sturdy. I doubt you will be picking at them or rough housing it like a dog, so you are fine, don't worry about it.
